Commentary: Rudd defends troop operations criticised by Pakistan
Australia defends the raid carried out by the coalition forces inside Pakistan’s tribal area. The Austrialian Prime said that the US had acted appropriately.
The statement given by Mr. Rudd is morally unpleasant. It also shows his ignorance of the UN laws. I must remind that Hitler’s unilateral actions in Europe started war. American actions will [...]
Commentary:NAB cases against Nawaz, family reopened
News reports indicate that NAB prosecutor-general Dr Danishwar Malik has made a request to the court to reopen three corruption cases against prime minister Nawaz Sharif and members of his family. In my opinion, the move indicates start of a new phase of political vendetta. It appears to me that they are reenacting the situation of 90s.
PPP workers always lamented that Pervez Musharraf used NAB to persecute them. They are using the same agency for political vendetta.
I call upon the PPP leader to stop wrangling and pay attention to the deterioting law and order in the country and something to improve the economic condition of the country. Otherwise , their infighting will pave the way for army intervention.
Commentary:Asif Ali Zardari orders ceasefire for votes
It has transpired that Mr. Zardari halted the ongoing operations in the tribal areas to gains the votes of religios parties like Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam religious party. The reports indicate that Army was consulted in taking this decision.
I was dismayed when I heard the news. Zardari can do anything to get personal gains. He has turned the successful army operations into a failure because of his decision. The militants will regroup and re-equip and strike with more force.
Commentary:US officials concerned over reports on Zardari’s mental health
News reports indicate that Americans are disturbed over the medical reports published by the theFinancial Times reported. A high ranking Republican on the US House Intelligence Committee told media that they would not want that kind of person take control of Pakistan’s nuclear assets.
It has transpired that Zardari’s lawyers had submitted medical reports in the London’s high court that was suffering from dementia, depression and post traumatic stress so he would not be in position to appear in the court to testify.
The statements of his party loyalist tell us the he had mental problem. But they contend that he had been cured.
As a Pakistani, I think American concerns are justified.
