Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne has said that growing influence of Taliban in Pakistan poses threat to Indian security. He feared that in the coming days they will pose a great challenge to India’s leaders and forces.
He is of the opinion that Taliban will turn to India after the departure of American forces from Afghanistan. He said that Taliban groups like “Pakistani Taliban” and “Punjabi Taliban are dangerous. He lamented that Afghan and Pak forces were not able to deal with them despite training and proper equipment. He opined that Taliban forces could turn to India. They can could infiltrate into India through Wagah border.

I think his fear is unjustified. Pakistan government is trying to improve relations with India. They would not allows groups like JuD to derail the peace process. I know Hafiz Saeed had said in his one of speeches that he would turn his guns to India after finishing their work in Kabul.

Taliban are successful in Afghanistan because they enjoy local support in the country. Indian Muslims will not extend support to them.
